Increased Competition Fuels Discounting Products
Who doesn’t like discount skate shoes? Discounting items is a technique that stores have been using since the invention of currency. There are multiple reasons on why stores would discount a product. Anything from competition to having to move an item off of their shelves.
Since the invention of the internet, online stores have come into play which has drastically increased the amount of competition that a store has. In each industry or product category, there are anywhere from hundreds to thousands of stores that are selling the same to similar products online and each and every one of those online stores is potentially competition.
With this increased competition from online stores, many stores are discounting products more often in order to compete. The more stores that are competing for a consumers business, the more the price of the product goes down as the high number of competition drives is down.
